4. “Maaan, you’re working with the puuublic. If you didn’t want to come to work today, you should have caaaalled… iiin… sick!” – Story courtesy of JH who overheard from a fellow bus rider who berated the bus driver for failing to make a stop for a little old lady
We don't always feel like working. But really when you walk in the door at work, you are on stage. No one would pay to sit in a Broadway theater watching Julia Roberts deliver a terrible performance during her new play simply because she was having a bad day with the twins. The critics would eat her up. Why is it any different at the hotel? Leave your problems at home. If you don't, your guests and clients can tell.
The show must go on. So act like it. (It is called acting, afterall.) Don’t think you are capable of an Oscar-worthy performance? You better call in sick.
