15 Years: #15 of 15

15.  99% of things happen for a reason.
Layoffs, lost loves, job changes, so on and so forth.  Things happen.  Although we cannot control everything, life is easier if we believe that it will all be okay in the end.  The other 1% are terrible tragedies that happen for reasons we will never comprehend in this life.  Our job is finding the grace and the good in the 99% of bad things that happen to us.

Remember the person who used to work to the right of us?  Long ago she was given a pink slip, but not before she dumped her pile of work on the mound of paperwork you call a desk as she shuffled, and sniffled, out the door.  Where is she now?  In SoHo and, well, if she hadn't left that job she never would have become the small business owner who rakes in six figures designing sparkly outfits for spoiled French bulldogs and long-haired Chihuahuas.  She would never have met Ted.  Or Annabelle.  Or Mr. Tinky.

Life is short, and if you believe like I do that things happen for a reason, then life will be a lot easier to live.  Especially when it deals the hard-hitting blows to our shins.  At least we have shins.
