The first year I became a manager of other people, I am embarrassed to admit that I was a tad bit demanding and expected perfection. I probably wasn't the only one who was.  Power-tripping isn’t a good term, but power-stumbling would be. Naturally we are always working on being better managers, but all we can really ask of the people who work with us and for us is that they do their best. Is there really a need to be a jerk?
