6. Give back.... In both your business and in your personal life.
Some of the lamest hotel stories I've heard had to do with celebrities staying in hotels and eating in restaurants. How demanding/nice they were, how much they drank/ate, or how ugly/pretty they were. Guess what? NOBODY CARES. So why are you being over backwards for people like this?
Instead, consider bending over backwards for your top producers: The people who buy from you everyday or the clients who give you sizeable contribution to your sales goals. When you learn about their passions it will be easy to see how you can support.
I speak from experience: Holding a hotel guest's three-day old preemie in the NICU of hospital just days before she died (heartbreaking), attending a client's 10-year-old son's ice skating competition (super lame), volunteering on my client's favorite charity foundations (mixed bag), and the list goes on. It doesn't need to be complicated: Showing interest could be as simple as sending a "cute kitten" YouTube video to a client who happens to looooooooove cats. Sure, it will win some brownie points with your client, but more than that, you feel like are actually a contributing member of society and a decent person.
As for your family, the same applies, only amplified.
